k, so I went to go see Red Eye. Director Wes Craven, starring Rachel Mcadams and Cillian Murphy.
My first expectations of this movie were alright. it was a type of i'll go see it if i were to go to the theatres to hang out more than to go just for this movie. and that was exactly what happened. i didn't expect too much from it because it was wes craven with such great films as cursed and music of the heart (I enjoyed scream though and nightmare on elm street).
the 85 minute film was not horror at all but a suspense thriller. 3/4 of the movie took place on the plane itself. Lisa (rachel mcadams) is a hotel manager going back home from her grandma's funeral. jackson (murphy) is the passenger seated next to her. It turns out that a president elect is gonna stay in lisa's hotel. jackson threatens her with killing her father unless she orders to change the presidential candidate's room number.
Both Murphy and Mcadams do a good job. this summer has been crazy for these two. Nothing too shocking in this movie. McAdams is the screaming girl that's getting chased by a lunatic. Murphy is one freaky person, its the bright blue eyes with immense dark hair that freaks me out. the plot was very straight forward and it was a good thing that the movie wasn't too long because it would of been horrible to drown this one out for 2 hours. all in all though the film was enjoyable. Of course Brian cox (lisa's father) is there. Seems to me he's in every movie.
(saw a trailer for just like heaven. for some reason i'm anxious to see that one)
Red Eye gets a 6 out of 10.
