Jay Leno is staying with NBC. Now what's going to happen? Leno is taking over the 10-11 pm timeslot and the move to primetime leads a lot of questions to be answered. With now over 3.5 hours of talk show programming split up with just a 30 min local news break, isn't it time to rethink your late night? I know that no one really watches the late programming but this night owl does.
The line up goes Leno, Conan, Kimmel, Daily. I say cut Daily and bring Kimmel to 30 minutes. Keep Poker After Dark and the Friday Strikeforce. If Leno is keeping the talk show type program which I'm guessing he will, Conan gets the raw end of the stick. Not only will Leno keep the A-List guests but Conan gets the sloppy seconds of the audience. Do people really watch back to back talk shows? I'm a Conan watcher so maybe I'm a bit bias. I'm glad that Leno is staying with NBC but how did this change anything? It's literally the same line up. Kimmel is definitely going to bomb in his first couple of seasons as Conan did. Just like Conan his nerves are going to get the best of him. This'll be one interesting programming block.
We'll see come June.
